Marilyn J. Thompson is a highly accomplished financial executive and strategic business leader with more than 30 years of experience advancing organizations across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare software, and technology sectors. As Chief Financial Officer of NeuroEM Therapeutics, she brings deep expertise in financial strategy, operational leadership, business development, and the unique demands of emerging growth companies.
A trusted advisor to more than 100 start-ups, Marilyn has held senior leadership roles including Controller, Director of Finance, CFO, and CEO. She has successfully overseen millions of dollars in grant funding from leading organizations, including the NIH, NSF, the Department of Energy, BARDA, and the Gates Foundation.
Before founding Accounting & Business Solutions of Eastern Carolina, Marilyn served as CEO of Adaptttech, a biomedical innovation company developing advanced remote-monitoring technology for lower-limb prosthetic users. She earned a BSBA in Accounting from East Carolina University.
