After analyzing trends, industry commentary and startup milestones from 2024, this list — in no particular order — showcases companies redefining their industries through cutting-edge technology, innovative solutions and growth potential.

It’s not just about how much money these companies raised — though funding often highlights external confidence. Bootstrapped ventures, breakthrough technologies and market disruptions also earn a place.

Tampa Bay’s ecosystem not only offers a front-row seat to some of the state’s most promising and exciting startup stories, but together, these startups represent job creators, revenue generators and newsmakers shaping the region’s future.

NeuroEM Therapeutics

NeuroEM is a Tampa biotech startup focusing on improving brain health with a device that uses radio frequency waves to penetrate the skull and brain tissue and reverse cognitive decline in a noninvasive method. The company is racing to bring its technology to the market. Plans are to launch a wellness product within 18 months and a full Alzheimer's treatment within three to four years.

Last year, NeuroEM announced its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy under new CEO Chuck Papageorgiou's leadership. The company also opened a Series A funding round for $5 million to expand the team and market presence and will pursue another round next year to deliver the product to market.
